[our perfect dystopia]
let me light your cigarette
before these hybrid lungs are poisoned with oxygen
before this nicotine blood turns a foul red
let me plug you in
before this brain asks any questions
before this mind finds any answers
let me push you in your chair
before these muscles gain any strength
before these feet learn to walk
let me put you to sleep
before this body begins to tremble
before this nightmare fills your dreams
let me cover your face
before this skin is burnt by moonlight
before these eyes see the truth
let me lead the way
before these people realize they are people
before their potential grows to more
let me tie you down
before this spirit remembers freedom
before this will chooses to fight
let me pull your strings
because you let me control you
because you don't want to control yourself
let me destroy you and all that you love
let me destroy life
let me light your cigarette
before these hybrid lungs are poisoned with oxygen
before this nicotine blood turns a foul red
let me plug you in
before this brain asks any questions
before this mind finds any answers
let me push you in your chair
before these muscles gain any strength
before these feet learn to walk
let me put you to sleep
before this body begins to tremble
before this nightmare fills your dreams
let me cover your face
before this skin is burnt by moonlight
before these eyes see the truth
let me lead the way
before these people realize they are people
before their potential grows to more
let me tie you down
before this spirit remembers freedom
before this will chooses to fight
let me pull your strings
because you let me control you
because you don't want to control yourself
let me destroy you and all that you love
let me destroy life
I guess this was somewhat influenced by Fahrenheit 451 (great book, everyone should read it). I hope to get some more poems done about how much I hate the society we live in...
